I started this blog to document persons of significance in the fashion industry who originate from Birmingham. Although not from Birmingham myself, I do live here, and although I think it's fundamentally a shithole, I'm trying to get into the Brummie psyche and understand how very successful "fashionistas" like Katie Grand (editor of LOVE, nee POP, THE FACE, DAZED AND CONFUSED), photographer LIZ COLLINS, model ERIN O'CONNER etc. relate back to their west midlands homeland, and how it might influence their persona and approach.

Of course, there are other 'famous' Brummies, people I admire like Ozzie Osbourne and Simon Le Bon and Robert Plant (not Frank Skinner, hes a wanka). Im trying to understand what it was like for them to grow up in this industrial, cultural void of a town. It's worth noting that none of them lives here anymore (unlike, say Manchester, where NEW ORDER and TONY WILSON(RIP) still live(d).
